Installed to Current UK Building Regulations

Every partition, ceiling, and dry lining system we install is specified and built to comply with the relevant Approved Documents. Method statements and RAMS are submitted before every project as standard. Full system documentation : including tested fire and acoustic ratings, thermal specifications, and board data sheets : is available on request.

Approved Document B : Fire Safety

Fire-rated partition and ceiling systems installed to tested specifications. We specify and install British Gypsum, Knauf, and Siniat fire-rated boards with the correct fire resistance period (30, 60, or 120 minute) for the application. System references are documented and available for building control sign-off.

Approved Document E : Acoustic Performance

Dry lining systems selected and installed to meet Approved Document E requirements. We work with Robust Detail schemes and can specify systems to hit target dB performance for separating walls and floors in residential, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Acoustic data sheets provided on request.

Approved Document L : Thermal Performance

Insulation continuity and thermal bridging managed at installation stage to support U-value compliance under Approved Document L2A and L2B. We work from your thermal specification and flag deviations before they appear on a snagging list or cause issues at air pressure testing.

Approved Document C : Moisture Resistance

Moisture-resistant (MR) and moisture-tolerant board grades specified and installed wherever required. Wet areas, high-humidity zones, and external wall linings are identified at scope stage so the correct board grade is specified from the outset, not retrofitted after a snagging inspection.

CDM Regulations 2015

Method statements and RAMS submitted before every project. We operate as a compliant subcontractor or, where required, as principal contractor. Full CDM documentation is available on request and we fit within your project’s existing CDM framework without adding overhead to your team.

Benefits of Tape & Jointing

Tape and jointing offers several significant benefits for both commercial and residential construction projects.

The process is a highly efficient finishing method compared to traditional plastering techniques. It requires less time and labor, resulting in faster project completion and reduced costs.

This makes it an economical choice for both commercial and residential projects, as it uses fewer materials and can be completed quickly by skilled professionals

Smooth, Seamless Finish

One of the primary advantages of tape and jointing is the impeccable aesthetic appeal it provides:

  • Seamless appearance: The technique creates a smooth, even surface by concealing joints, screws, and imperfections in the drywall.
  • Professional look: It yields a polished, magazine-worthy finish that enhances the overall visual appeal of the space.
  • Versatility: The smooth surface serves as an ideal base for various decorative finishes, including paint, wallpaper, or textured coatings.

Enhanced Durability

Tape and jointing offers improved structural integrity and longevity:

  • Crack resistance: The method fortifies connections between drywall panels, reducing the likelihood of cracks forming over time.
  • Stability: It enhances the overall durability and stability of walls, making it suitable for high-traffic areas.
  • Long-lasting results: When properly executed, tape and jointed surfaces can withstand the test of time, minimizing the need for frequent repairs.

Versatility and Adaptability

Tape and jointing is a versatile technique that can be applied in various settings:

  • Multiple surfaces: It can be used on plasterboard, drywall, and concrete surfaces.
  • Project types: The method is suitable for new construction, renovations, retail spaces, and repairs in both residential and commercial projects.
  • Design flexibility: It allows for customization and a range of design possibilities to suit different aesthetic preferences

Ease of Repair

Simple Repairs: If any cracks or damage occur after installation, the taped and jointed surfaces are easier to repair than traditional plaster. Patching up small areas typically involves applying a new layer of joint compound and sanding it smooth, which can be done without the need for extensive rework.

Modifications: When changes to the wall are necessary (e.g., installing new wiring or pipes), tape and jointing allow for easier removal and replacement of sections compared to fully plastered walls.

Additional Benefits

Offering a combination of efficiency, aesthetics, durability, and compliance, tape and jointing has become an indispensable technique in modern construction projects, benefiting both commercial and residential spaces

  • Improved insulation: Tape and jointing helps seal potential gaps, contributing to better insulation of the space.
  • Cleanliness: The process is cleaner compared to plastering, as material is only applied to joints rather than entire surfaces.
  • Lower Waste: Because the materials used are precisely measured and less excess is created, the method typically results in lower construction waste.
  • Structural Impact: Using tape and jointing involves less material than plastering, which reduces the overall weight on walls and ceilings. This is particularly important in high-rise buildings and modern homes that aim to minimise structural load.
  • Enhanced Safety: In commercial settings, specific types of jointing compounds are fire-rated, helping to improve the overall fire resistance of walls and ceilings. This is a key benefit in meeting building safety codes and standards.

  • Soundproofing: Tape and jointing help seal gaps in the walls and ceilings, contributing to better sound insulation, which is important in both commercial office buildings and residential settings.

  • Meeting Standards: In many cases, tape and jointing systems are designed to meet or exceed industry standards and building regulations. This makes them a reliable choice for projects that require adherence to strict codes, especially in commercial construction.
